Every year I have been doing a Christmas stitchery wall hanging for my friends and family, but this year, I totally forget about it until it was too late. After I had cleaned up this mess:
I ran across a bag filled with 21 pre-cut tops, battings, backs and bindings for this cute stitchery:
Three were completed. The rest were all crumpled, but still together in one bag. In years past, I used to embroider when my cleaning ladies came once a month, and also the day after so that I wouldn't mess up my house right away. This year, since I can no longer afford cleaning ladies, I apparently have no time for embroidery either. Bummer! I might have to rectify that in 2011. I used to enjoy it. This pattern is by Cinderberry Stitches...(don't ask me the name, I haven't a clue since everything is finally packed away.) Last year, I made this one:
Now the question is..........do I finish the ones from this year, or make new ones for 2011? Ummmmm, I might have to think on that! I already found a pattern I like. Anybody want to pay for my cleaning ladies???? (You might want to think on that one, huh??? LOL)
Have a blessed Christmas, my friends, and thank you ever so much for visiting my blog and being a part of my life, crazy as it is. I so appreciate each and every one of you!!
These are beautiful! Merry Christmas to you and your's as well! Cheryl
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family. Your stitchery is cute. Pick up where you left off and you will feel gratification. Your blog is so cute. Keep up the great work in the New ear.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I can no longer afford my cleaning lady either. I told my sister this week I might have to give up some fabric buying to afford her again - what a horrible thought! Merry Christmas to you and yours...blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteGosh they are cute.. decisions, decisions.. 1) they are paid for and they are there.. I would use them! or 2) Do you still love them?
ReplyDeleteI think I need to make myself monthly boxes.. so I put things for Christmas in the October box.. to get them done in time for Christmas.. etc.
Merry Christmas
Those Cinderberry stitcheries are so cute! I need to make some! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYour friends will understand. I say keep going on the ones you just found and you'll have them done plenty early for next year. I love that you would stitch the day after cleaning so that you wouldn't mess up the house - hilarious. Sorry, can't help you with the cleaning...it's bad enough here!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Carol. It's been a blast being your blog buddy this year. Thanks for the tree skirt pattern my sister and brother's families love them!!
Well, I am my cleaning lady and I'm kinda on strike. Voodoo Cafe says you have to MAKE time to create. Since you can't add hours to the day, you have to give something up to have time for your craft. So...I forfeited cleaning time! Who knew you could do that! ~lol~
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, Carol!! I think 2011 should be declared the "Year of the UFO".
ReplyDeleteI have SEW many unfinished objects that I need to complete. Let's do 'em together?
Merry Christmas Carol! I hope you and yours have a great holiday season and a wonderful new year.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those wonderful wall hangings from you hanging in my kitchen right now. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think 2011 should be "do what makes you happy" year. I plan on doing lots of smocking and sewing this next year. Who notices when the house is dirty other than us? I know my husband doesn't even notice.
Seriously, you are one of my most FAVORITE bloggers. I hope you had a Merry Christmas too.

ReplyDeleteHi! I am just enthralled by your blog!! You are so incredibly talented!! WOW!! I love to draw and doodle etc., but I would love to have half your talent! I liked it, that you have Cinderberry Stitches designs, as they are also one of my favourite Australian designers. I have lots of their patterns, and a few UFO's too!!
