Yippe, yippee, yippee! I did it and didn't screw it up and believe it or not, my math was even correct. (I can hardly believe it myself!!) Now to write the pattern. But, don't you just love it? This is the only picture I took......draped over my ironing board after the final pressing before it goes to the quilter.
I'm calling it "Color Play", named after the original doll quilt I made last year for the Doll Swap (but never gave away). In fact, that one is hanging in my dining room. It's 16x20 inches.
The new lap quilt is 54x68 inches and once it's all done as a shop sample for my local quilt shop, it'll come home to be twins with the original. I've been thinking about doing this for a whole year and when I discovered that my LQS was going to carry all the Kaufman Kona solids, I knew it was time to write the pattern. I hope you like it as much as me........this one is 100 times better than the last. Don't you agree?
Just beautiful!! A rainbow of Kona!

I was just bragging you up on my blog. I made 2 of these myself a couple weeks ago. I couldn't help but think about black while I was stitching up the white one, so I had to do another. There was certainly a learning curve when I decided to piece in a tiny border. Yikes!! I used my hand dyes.
