1st Pair Done!

Well, things are progressing here.  Hubby and I went to look at tile for the new backsplash in the kitchen on Monday and on the way there, I hit a pothole on a street under construction and when we got out of the tile store, I had the flattest tire you ever saw!  A big rip on the inside sidewall, if you can believe….resulting in a bill of $323 for a new tire and a complete alignment.  Expensive trip and I still haven't decided on tile.  Grrrrr…..!!!  Otherwise everything is slow and sure here.  My contractor hasn't started the kitchen yet…hopefully, next week.  I can't wait until it's done!

Naturally, I sent out books to my sweeties.  They love getting mail!

I finished my first pair of socks!  They're not perfect and I'll admit to a few mistakes in each one here and there, but they fit and they're warm and that's all I care about.  I've already purchased several different kinds of yarn for more.

Here is the beginning of pair of socks #2.  These, I'm going to rib all the way up.

And, that's it!  No books again this week although I am reading one.  IF I finish it, I'll let you know next week.  I think I'm a bit preoccupied with too many other things to concentrate on books.

Hope you all are fine, and healthy.  Enjoy your summer and make sure you do something daily that makes you happy.  That's what life is all about!

  4. Tires...why do they have to cost so much???

I am so impressed with your socks! I have set mine aside for right now. I am trying to finish a scarf/shawlette with some beads knitted in, for a wedding party next weekend. I also have several mistakes but have kept going...in the long run, it will be hard to see the mistakes (except I can point out each one!)and a good friend and knitting teacher told me finished with mistakes or never finished. So....I will just keep on keepin on!!!

Hope all is well in your world! Sue.

  5. So sorry about your tire issue. Our roads are horrible in this country! Love your socks and the next color is rainbow sherbet fun! Selecting tile can be exhausting and overwhelming. Hope your kitchen gets moving along soon. June JOY...
