Well, I did it! This morning I put a deposit on carpeting for the majority of the house. I finally decided and I'm happy! Now I wish it was done already because I really can't even imagine the craziness of moving all those rooms of furniture, bedding, etc. Actually, my salesman called me a week ago and told me of an upcoming sale where they will remove all the old carpeting, dispose of it and the old padding, plus move the furniture out of the room (and hopefully put it back in) for free…to be included in the price of the carpeting. Well, who could beat that? That, in itself, saved me almost $700…..so today I did it. Now to wait ……maybe I can be gone when it happens and let my hubby deal with it. Now, that would really be good!
I sent out these envelopes (with books inside, naturally) to my sweeties:
And then…..how many of you have tried Panera's summer strawberry salad? Oh my, it's so yummy so I tried duplicating it at home……but I forgot the pecans, and I even had some….poop! It was a good though and I'm going to make more until the strawberries get yucky. My specialty store even carried the Panera Low Fat Poppyseed dressing. Soooooo good!
Lastly, I even started and finished a whole pair of socks last week…..(can you believe…..1 week for 2 socks?) Actually, they were made with worsted yarn and knit with #6 needles so they went super fast. My friend knit some for herself and told me about them. She said they would be perfect for just lounging in the winter…….(I doubt if they'd even fit in shoes, they're so thick). lol I'm going to make a few pair for Christmas gifts.
So, that's the news this week. Sunday we're hosting the annual family pool party and amazingly the weather is cooperating. The temps are supposed to hit 90! It's almost unbelievable. There have been years when we've already had the pool closed by Sept 6th it's been so cold……I think an angel is watching over us this year!!
So, my friends, enjoy your holiday weekend and be well! It won't be long until winter sets in and it's cold again…….I even saw Christmas decorations for sale in a Joanne fabric store yesterday. Ugh!
Hope the carpeting and furniture moving goes well for you!!
