Things are pretty sad when the highlight of my week was the Tuesday release of Season 3 of "Homeland". My husband and I LOVE that series, but are too cheap to subscribe to Showtime, so we buy the DVDs when the season is over, and then watch the other seasons prior to the release to catch up. You realize, I hope, that is like marathon viewing….but oh, how we love it!! Two disks to go and the new season 3 will be done and then we'll have to wait another year. One of these days, I might have to cave and call my cable provider…maybe?? At least just to check the price, huh? Seems crazy though for only one show.
And here are the envelopes I sent out this week:
I did manage to get a few books read too, believe it or not. Although I wished I could have finished more:
THE UNIVERSE VERSUS ALEX WOODS debut by Gavin Extence
PERSONAL by Lee Child
CAMP UTOPIA AND THE FORGIVENESS DIET by Jenny Ruden
The 2nd one is good (as are all Jack Reacher books), and #3 is a bit quirky, but being a bit "fluffy" myself my whole life, it's not as funny as I think it was meant to be. I have gone through every diet on the universe too and I hurt for the 16 year old main character who's mother spent $5000 to send her to "fat camp" for 8 weeks. I have about 100 pages to go so I'm hoping it improves. AND….for all you skinny babes out there……I hate you!!! lol J/K
Of course, if I wouldn't make stuff like this, I might be a bit thinner:
QUICK CHICKEN TETRAZINNI
8 oz spagetti - cooked
2 cups cooked and diced chicken
10 oz can cream of chicken soup
10 oz can cream of mushroom soup
2 Tablespoons melted butter
1/3 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup Mozzarella - shredded
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
Combine all EXCEPT parmesan cheese. Mix well and put in a 2 quart casserole dish. Top with parmesan and bake 350 degrees 30 minutes. Really yummy!! (And fattening!)
Have a good week, my friends! Happy reading……and eating! lol
The monster under the bed is my favorite of the envies this time. Your girls are getting a great head start with their reading. And you're making it all the more fun.
