You might not have seen this:
But I got right to work on it...........
And some of those strips turned into this:
Which in turn turned into these after I ironed them...(note that there were only 59 done at this time):
So after I cut them and sewed them back together, they looked like this:
And...in case you want to see the back of one (like one of my friends wanted), this is what it looked like. Note that I didn't give a rats behind which way the seams wanted to go, just so they stayed flat. LOL I figure why fight with them???
I thought I was close to being done......and that would have been the case if I had shut my big mouth instead of asking my Flickr friends if I should go on to make a lap quilt instead of the baby quilt/wall hanging which was my original plan. Duh! That should teach me!! Needless to say, this marathon will continue 'cause now I need 12 more circles.....which is 144 more rectangles or about 5-6 days of just sewing strips. Ugh! BORING!! Really BORING! This project might just need some shelf time, I'm thinking! (Which is hardly ever the case with me since it drives me nuts having two projects going at once), but two of my very favorite swaps will be starting in days. I MUST concentrate on those, you know.......besides, I also have a commission quilt in the works that must get done too once I get the fabrics I ordered for it. E-gads, I'm such a busy girl...........don't you just love it???? I know, me too!

I want to just print out the picture of all your circles and hang it on my quilting wall! That is fabulous!
Love it is certainly an understatement...wow...the colors sew reflect you in sew many ways...like I can pick out the fabrics of mug rugs you created and small quilts you put together...Sew when do you estimate this one will be completed...WOW!
LOVE this! How did you cut out your wedges? A wedge ruler or just a triangle ruler? Maybe you should show us so we can use up our scraps and make some fabulous blocks like these too? Please??
Wow, all those lovely colours - I love it.
How fun is that! The colors are amazing. I would love to see how you cut up the strips too. Can't wait to see how you put it together.
The colors are happy, it's a great accomplishment; well done!
Wow, it looks fanastic alredy, I can't wait to see the finished product.. Those colors.. they are SO you.. I don't know how you do it.. they are just ... you!
I am trying to figure how you sewed them together...that isn't a spiderweb pattern is it? Beautiful job!!!
Forgive me..I looked a little closer and I don't think you have the circles sewn together with each other. I am curious to see how you will do that though.
This will be a 'HAPPY' quilt....love it, love it, love it. It makes you smile, thanks for sharing.
Really bright and happy - perfect!
Super cool fun colors! Certainly will bring smiles to your face :) I sure would like to know how you went from strip sets to wedges ... impressive! Nice work!
>>>> Note that I didn't give a rats behind which way the seams wanted to go, <<<<
You are my heroine, dear lady !!!!
but you MUST give a small explanation on how you sewed all these circles together because I can't figure it out
and you know we will all be doing this project later tonight !
No, you don't ... just have a cup of tea and relax. You can make them into lovely pillows instead. Give one as a bribe to keep those so-called friends from ever coming up with those work making ideas again - and one for your reader who came up with this great idea! LOL. No kidding, these are so wonderful, I can think of dozens of uses for these! Too bad they are boring to sew. No, no, don't put them away yet! I love them!
OMG, I love it, can't wait to see the finished project.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Carol, you never cease to inspire and delight me! :) I must say, in addition to loving your quilty handiwork, I love your wall of windows around your 'studio'. :) What a great spot to work.
We are similar...I can't stand to have two projects going on at once either but am in the midst of a big project with HSTs coming out my ears and they are getting so tedious but I want to keep going till it is done! Can you tell me if you are going to piece these or applique them to the background of the quilt? I want to picture it in my head!
Oh my goodness!!! It is just gorgeous though.
Just beautiful! The colors are amazing together. I can't wait to see the finished quilt!
Jennifer :)
So fabulous!!! i just love all that colour. You're doing an awesome job.
Oooo, purty!
I don't think you should put it away! Just make the wall hanging or crib size quilt. Why ask others??? Do what your initial gut desire was! I wish I could keep up the pace you do! It does inspire me! This is when I wish I didn't work!
All I can say is WOW WOW WOW, and I agree with martinmosaics do what you want to do, life is too short to mess around with things that are not giving us pleasure.
Those are absolutely fabulous!
Thanks for the shot of the back, Carol! It's going to be great, wallhanging, or lap quilt. I wish I could stay focussed on one project!!!
Fantásico trabajo!!!!
Gracias por compartir su experiencia!
Wow! Those colors are fantastic. It is like a piece of art just seeing all those colors and circles done. And I can't wrap my head around how you get them together in those circles. I just love your creative mind!
Love the colours! Awesome, awesome!
What gorgeous colours! Makes me smile. You're so inspiring.
I can to find you via Trudi's blog and I think I am going to be a regular visitor. I just LOVE your work, so bright and cheery.
Your zentangles are what particularly attracted me. You are so very talented with them. I have recently received the books too and look forward to improving my skills with them.
Every time I come and look at your stuff I think "I gotta get me some of those bright colors!" I just love the way you put them together and they jump right off the page. Can't wait to see this one finished! blessings, marlene
I am one of those Flickr friends who said "make more", but if that's not making you happy, then by all means quilt it up as is ASAP!!!! :) I totally "get" not wanting to do more if you're getting bored with it. I understand reaching a point where you're ready for the next thing :) I am curious to see how you put them all together. It is sure to be gorgeous no matter what size it is!
Love Love Love all of your photos...each one is beautiful and inspiring!
Looking Good! Can;t wait to see the grand finale! Thanks for sharing, Cathy
