I'm not sure exactly how to put this, or really how to say it, but I'm having a give-away! Now....not so that you should get so excited, let me explain that this is not a NEW give-away, but a re-gifted one. YES, you read that right!! A re-gifted give away!! (I bet that's a new one, huh??? Leave it to me!! lol) This is what happened. A month or so ago, I was reading my normal blog list of favorites, and left a message for one of my favorite bloggers/artists, Jacquie. Little did I know it, but it was her intent to gift some commenter that day with a Kaufman Jellyroll and I was the winner. Now, IF I had known what the give-away was to be, I would never have left a comment because I NEVER sign up for something I probably won't use. NEVER!!! Not that jellyrolls are bad! Far from it!!! Let me show you the jellyroll:
Do you see? It's pastel! Pastel? ME????? I don't think so! I contemplated on what to do. Should I refuse it and appear ungrateful? Should I maybe make something and probably hate it because I'm really not a pastel girl? Oh what to do? So.....after a few weeks of thinking, I decided since it was just my birthday last Sunday, and since I really have not been sewing because I have been "down for the count" with this sickness crud again, I would have a re-gifting day! AND......I sure hope you don't comment and ask for it just because it's free! Please plan on using it, if you really want it! Unless, of course, you plan on having a re-re-gifting day. lol That would be okay too, I suppose!!! Who knows, this poor Kona Jellyroll could make the whole blog circuit if we planned it right. lol Anyway, that's the scoop!
You also must see the cute Birthday postcard my awesome friend, Annie made me:
She's the BEST!! Thank you, Annie! I love it! So, go comment now and tell me why you think you need a Kaurfman Pastel Jellyroll. I'll be interested in hearing............(and make sure you leave an e-mail address so if you win, I can contact you.) I'm thinking of Friday......or maybe Saturday morning. Hopefully, by then I will have sewn something to show you.

Happy birthday to you (belatedly). No, I cannot see you using the pastels with the beautiful work you do. I am sure that I could help you out with the dilemma!
Happy Birthday...sorry your feeling crummy.
if i win, i plan on making a 1600 type quilt with the strips, then using that as a background for a fun garden applique scene...
*if*
Oh please, i have a very cute idea, and pastels would be very cute! Oh yeah, Happy Birthday to you!
Love you blog! Trying to get mine up and runny!

Happy birthday a bit late. What a great idea for a giveaway. No, there's no way I can see you using this jelly roll. Although I use some brights and dulls and a little of everything, pastels are some of my favorites. Thanks for the chance.
Happy Belated Birthday. I think that those pastels would make nice flying geese wings to go along with my Flower of the Month fabrics I collected a few years ago. I enjoy your blog so much.
Thanks, Daisy
Happy Birthday - no you are not a pastel girl - but I would love it to make some cuddleliscious for my granddaughter.
Happy birthday! I think I'd use it to make the Hopscotch pattern (the next swoonalong pattern) which requires a jellyroll (which I don't have cos I never buy them lol) I'd love to win this one :oD

Ohthis would be perfect for a project that is floating in my head :o) Happy belated birthday and I so love reading your blog and seeing all your inspiring creations xx
Happy Birthday and a speedy recovery. If I won this jelly roll, I'd use it to make a baby quilt to donate to a children's charity. My guild is having a year-long challenge where we're making and donating baby quilts. thanks for the chance to win!
happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!!
Belated Happy Bithday Carol! I hope you are feeling all better very soon! A. Pastel Jelly Roll! I have a grand baby secret that would definely give me a reason to use it.
You're such a sweetheart to regift something you'll never use. I'd love to make a quilt for a soon-to-be-grandchild out of such lovely soothing pastels. Recuperate fast!
Happy Birthday!
I love the card Annie made you!
I've just bought Cathy Gaubert's Doll Quilts book and there's a fabulous wallhanging that calls for strips of a plain jelly roll so this would be perfect!
I don't usually buy pastels, so my stash is lacking in that area. I have a couple of patterns that I would like to make that require pastel prints. Thanks for the opportunity.
Happy belated birthday! I make a good amount of baby quilts and would love to incorporate that lovely fabric into them... they would also make AWESOME scrappy binding!
That is one cute Birthday card! Pastel Jelly Roll, would love to have it, I would make a butterfly quilt with it.
Your generosity is much appreciated, win or lose.
brendatexan@hotmail.com
p.s. I always look forward to seeing your new creations!
I would use it to make quilts for foster kids my quilt quild makes them for Safe place in Everett WA. the kide love them and it comforts them in such a time of trama. lisa lisaursino@msn.com
I make baby blankets for charity and am sure that I could put these pastels to good use. I also work with the brights for children but it is good to throw in something calm at times.
Ooh! What a lovely jelly roll. I NEED another jelly roll like I need a hole in my head. But I would LOVE it because spring is nearly here. So many springy things to make.
Thanks so much for the offer. I did laugh when you mentioned pastels for yourself not being a good fit. So true!
Happy Birthday (after the fact!)
I would definitely use up this jelly roll -- I have a number (a pretty large number, but fewer than six) of different jelly rolls that are flowery and feminine or baby prints, and they all need some solids to go with. So pleeeeeeze pick me, I need, want these pastels!
You my dear are so definitely not a pastel girl, me on the other hand....(my bridesmaids wore apricot) I think you can get the jiff of things. I adore your B'day postcard So a big belated Birthday hug is on it's way to you through our little cyber world.
Happy Belated Birthday! Love the cute little postcard! I just found out a friend is having a baby and I think this would make a wonderful quilt for her! Thanks for the chance to win!
I'm not a pastel person myself but...if I was to win that jelly roll, I would use it to make a baby quilt. I make them for the NICU at one of the hospitals in Little Rock. I'm always on the lookout for fabrics I can use for that. It was a very sweet idea to re-gift something you wouldn't use. Good luck to everyone!
Oh, and happy birthday!!
I LOVE pastel. Love it. Of course, I love BRIGHT, COUNTRY, and every shade and color inbetween. I don't fit in any categories...and I guess THAT in and of itself is a category. Tee hee...
Carol - I stalk you. I adore your work. Commenting on blogs is a rare thing for me because my comments never STICK. (I don't have the right accounts or something.)
Thanks for being so generous in sharing what you do.
Hugs,
Dawn

We're supposed to *need* it -- who qualifies for that?
I could sure use it though. Those pastels would be perfect for NICU quilts. :-)
I'm all for regifting...I do it every year at Christmas. I'm a teacher, so I get all sorts of things, and I can't possibly keep them all. My solution is to let my mom and sister have their pick.
As for the jelly roll, to be honest, I've never used them but would love the opportunity. I saw a super fast lap-sized quilt using a jelly roll that really intrigued me. Plus, I have a new granddaughter that would be the recipient of a pastel quilt.
Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday!! It is quite obvious that you are not a pastel kind of person... and I love the soft look, with Easter around the corner, that jelly roll would be perfect for some placemats! Thanks for the chance!
Happy Belated birthday! I'm sure I could find SOMETHING to make with that jelly roll ;)
I am so pastel!! Wanna come see my stash? It's almost completely pastels.......and that would be the perfect addition to a project happening soon.
As hard as it is for you to use pastels, it's that hard for me to use primary or bright colors! I really have to work hard to look at a bright, colorful fabric for a project.
Hope you are still enjoying your birthday. I believe in celebrating for as long as possible...the older we get, the more I love to see another birthday coming. It's better than the alternative!
Beckie in Brentwood, TN, who would love a jelly roll... would love to eat one, too!
I would use the pastels in a New York beauty against some very bright and brash prints
Are you kidding? Pastels...spring...Easter...perfect! Blessings, Marlene
Belated happy birthday! So sorry to read you are sick. My computer has been sick, but I think it is finally back and I've got about everything reloaded again~ what a pain! I love your birthday postcard, very fun! Love the pastel jelly roll too~ I'd use it for a quilt with my vintage sheets... I think they would complement each other really well. Thanks for the fun!
Happy birthday! What a beautiful postcard from your friend!!! Sooo cute! I'd love to give the pastels a happy home. I need to make yet another baby quilt. I would probably use the Sunflower Seeds QA pattern. It's so jelly roll friendly and I have made more than one of them now. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love this and see it as an adorable baby quilt.
I think re-gifted and recycling are great! Why keep something you can't use, especially if it might bless someone else. Happy birthday to you and I hope you're feeling better.
I can see beautiful baby quilts with that pastel roll. Happy Belated Birthday AND pleeeeease Get Well Soon!
Hope you had a wonderful "B" day.
And I would love to give that jelly roll a home and make into a cute baby quilt, or maybe add some soft floral fabrics and made it a soft romantic quilt hmmmm.
Hope we both start to feel better soon I to hate being under the weather. Winter colds blah!!!
in stitches
Yikes, you are still sick?!?! Poor you but I hope you had a good birthday nonetheless. I can already picture what I'd do with this jelly roll!
What a great thing to do with something pretty fabric that isn't wanted :)
I am expecting baby number 4... This jelly roll would be perfect for a baby quilt :)
I love pastels! I've been trying to incorporate more solids so this would be perfect. Thank you!
pastels work in moderation - I'm thinking for a baby quilt for this coming spring time.
I agree with you! I dont enter just to enter if it is for something I dont think I could use. I love this jelly roll as even though it is light colored I have some awesome bright colored fabrics to pair with it.
I'd like to have it because I actually really like pastels mixed in with brighter colors. I think it's really sweet of you to share something like a jelly roll out here with all your project lovers! (or rather people who love your projects)
How kind of you to pass it along; although I would LOVE to see you turn pastels into something Carol style.
A belated happy birthday to you Carol. I love those pastels. I haven't heard of a "regifted giveaway" before! Thanks for the chance.
I would love to make a modern block quilt with those pastels. I think the birthday postcard is so cute. I never used buttons on a postcard before but they look great. Happy belated birthday too.
Free give away.... Well, like it, want it, and even need it. Thanks for refitting it rather than letting it sit there and gather dust
I love Pastels and Would love some Robert Kaufman to play with. I have a Tester quilt that needs some solids that are pastels for a Baby girl that we are hoping comes to our family... Feel better soon and thanks for re-gifting.
Well, I am a pastel person. When I had my colors done years ago, that was the consensus - wear lots of pastels. Funny, those were usually my choices anyway.
No, I won't re-gift if I win. I saw a pleated pillow that would look great with your pastels - I'll add a few patterns, too.
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Happy Birthday to you!! (can you hear me singing off key??) Belated birthday wishes...Solids are a girl's best friend..A pastel jelly roll can be cut up and adapted into an awesome art quilt! A little bit wonky and a little bit straight line quilted..thanks for the chance to win!
Happy Birthday!
I have a little 5 yr. old granddaughter so I can always use pastels. I've been wanting to try a jelly roll.
Thanks.
Happy Birthday! Mine was Friday! I would love the chance to win - love to make some doll quilts for my nieces. Thank you!
I am trying to use up lots of tiny scraps to make Crumb blocks to use in Premature baby quilts for my local hospital. I made one on Saturday and used a baby pink plain fabric for the sashing to unify the blocks. Looks good so I plan to keep making these quilts. Your jelly roll would be ideal for sashing so please enter me in the Giveaway
Linda on travjonuk@yahoo.com (NOT the Google account, thanks)
Happy Birthday!! What an awesome birthday card you received. :)
I like the pastel colored jelly roll. I would use them in a Spring or Easter themed wall hanging.
Have a great week!
Sonia
I have several baby quilts to make and this would help! Thanks for the chance.
Pastels?? ERKKK! Yucko!!! If I win I will use the strips to tie the tomato plants to their stakes! LOL
Happy Birthday! :) This card looks like you made it. She knows you! ;)
I would add some great strong prints which would go nicely with the pastels solids.
Susanne
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROL! Your Birthday card is so adorable - wow how great idea!
I think your idea for a re-give away is really good! I can see that you are not a pastel person, but I am! - even I use also brighter colours! Last night I was dreaming to make a 'woven' quilt. I haven't used ever jelly roll and I think it would be so perfect for that project and with those lovely colours! I would make it a quilt or a wall quilt.
Thank you for sharing! x Teje
Happy Birthday!! Hurry up and give that CRUD away!!
I would LOVE to have that jelly roll. I have been thinking about making one of those strippy quilts.
Happy birthday!
I would love to with the pastel jelly roll because I have a three-year old who loves everything pastel. We've just repainted her walls in a lovely pastel pink so I would make a quilt to go on her bed.
Thank you so much for your re-giveaway!
Hope you had a great birthday and you weren't too sick for cake.
I'd love some pastels for a springy project.
Thanks for sharing.
Debbie
I have some lovely patterns for a JR that I;m wanting to try Pastles or not! I know someone in my family will love it!
Hello.I love those colors.I will make a quilt for the bed in my guest room. The room is in grey and white so i think it will fit nicely.Love from a quilter i norway.
First of all, hope you are less "cruddy" each day. ;) Secondly, I love ALL fabric colors...all of them....which may not be a good thing at all, and would love to make a small lap quilt with this pastel roll. Thanks so much!
Happy belated birthday; If I won the jelly roll I would use it to make a quilt for my friends' adopted daughter. She is very girly and I also do not usually sew with pastels!
I don't love pastels either, but I never pass up a chance at a giveaway...and I do use an awful lot of fabrics that aren't "me" to make donation quilts. Your birthday postcard is awesome!!
This would be so perfect for making a spring quilt. I am so ready for spring!
I see nothing wrong with re-gifting! I would love to use the pastels in a baby quilt.
Happy belated birthday! I enjjoy your creativity and blog very much. I have two expecting moms in the family i would like to make baby quilts. I have been told my bright colors andbd fabrics are not baby apropriate. Since i can not bring myself to buy pastels this jelly roll would be great. Thanks for the chance.
Happy belated birthday! Regifting is a great idea and I think the pastels would make a great baby quilt to donate to the women's shelter in town. Thanks for doing this!
Happy Belated BD...the card Annie made you is so nice, I love her work...and yours, as well..pastels are not my choice either but I would love to make a baby quilt and donate it...thank you for re-gifting..
More and more, I am on the hunt for "lights" ... I'd love to win your giveaway.
No need to include me in the draw...but I did want to comment on the delightful post card....happy name sake day...sew much to look forward to this year...may yours be filled with colour...
I would love love love to win. I love the colours and am a newbie so my stach is tiny.
Happy Birthday (late now I know)
x
Just realised I misspelt STASH, my (mou)stach is another matter all together and we won't go there!
I quite like the idea of regifting your gift :-) but seriously...i've bee having such fun with the bonnie hunter quilts that I could see using it for something like that :-)
Don't include me in the giveaway but I had such a giggle about the pastel jellyroll becoming the fruitcake of the quilt world.... there really is only one!
Happy Birthday last week, and get BETTER! I would use the jellyroll to give me more colors selection for my art quilts.
Carol, first of all, hope you're feeling better. My Birthday was the 6th and I too have been battling a bacterial infection so it wasn't the best of birthdays. As for the jellyroll, I would love it because I make Project Linus Quilts for our local NICU and cuddle blankets for a local fire station to give out to children of a house fire. Pastel would be perfect.
Blessings'
Gmama Jane
This jelly roll would go perfect with some 30's reproduction fabric in my stash.
I love reading your blog and seeing what you are going to come up with next. I too love bright colors and don't think I have made a quilt in pastel yet. I see other people using pastels and their quilts seem so calm and serene so maybe I should try a calm quilt for a change if I win the jelly roll. By the way hope you're feeling better and happy belated birthday.
Happy Birthday! I hope you are feeling much better now. I love pastel colors as well as brights too. I'm working on a garden themed quilt right now and I need some lighter colors to go with it as I am using mostly darks and medium colors.
Happy belated Birthday!
I luv that postcard-gorgeous!!!
I would so gladly take that pastel jellyroll off your hands! I find that these colors are the perfect neighbor for the bright wacky colors that i soo luv! i am making a signature quilt for my MOM-70th birthday and she luvs pastels!!!
I would love the jelly roll in pastels! I have two baby quilts to make as surprise gifts (so yes, it will be re-regifted) but as a finished small quilt. (or maybe two quilts if I can stretch the fabric!)
Either way it would be fun to have to play with, knowing they are surprise gifts.
Jeanie at cupcakesniece@yahoo.com
Happy Birthday! Your b-day is the same as my daughter's. I was a really happy mommie 48 years ago! I think that jelly roll would be very pretty used in a baby quilt. Thanks for thinking of us. Your little postcard is adorable!
I need a Kaurfman Pastel Jellyroll because I have never had one before.
Thanks for considering my comment.
Hope you had a wonderful birthday and feel better now. I have a baby girl quilt to make and that jelly roll would be just perfect. I haven't ever worked with a jelly roll, but have several patterns that use them. Thanks for the chance to win.
I would use it for a quilt for one of my daughters, actually my oldest (7) would help me make a quilt with it.
I weould use it. I have 4 baby quilts to make. IT would be perfect. What a nice thing for your to do. jillforelich@yahoo.com
Oh my ... I could really use the pastels in all the baby quilts that I make .... thanks for the chance to win!
Need jelly roll because:
1. Have never won anything on giveaways.
2. Have started collecting fabric to make a baby quilt..these colours would work well with what I have so far.
3. I just found your site and will now be a follower.

I'd love to win the jelly roll because I've never worked with pre-cuts before.. I'd love to make a jelly roll race quilt with it.
I love the jelly roll. It would make some great premmie baby quilts.
I have not worked with a jelly roll. I would use it for the quilts I donate to my local Goodfellows Group.
I know the give-away is over & that's okay...I just wanted to say "WOW" on that DARLING birthday postcard that Annie made for you!! Too cool!!
Yay. The give away is over. I can tell you how cool this B-day postcard is with no fear of receiving a pastel jelly roll. I am just like you. No pastel for me. AND I don't comment if I don't think I'll use it. Happy Late B-Day too.
