Told ya...

I'm sure that you remember me telling you what a disaster I had waiting for me on my dining room table?   Well, I wasn't kidding:

It took awhile, and I pondered on where to put it all (since I already look like a hoarder in my bedroom with bins stacked 4 high), but I cleaned it all off and this is what it looks like now:

I think I could use a centerpiece now, don't you?  OR....(and e-gads on this one), maybe I'll have to dig out some of that fabric and make a table runner?????

In the meantime, let me show something else I did this week.  Remember when I showed you this picture that I stole off of pinterest?

Gorgeous, right?  Since I have no canning jars with wide mouths, and really didn't want to invest in any, I visited my local Joann Fabric store and came up with this.  AND, believe it or not, with the vase, cranberries, and package of floating candles, it only cost me $6.50.  What a deal!  ('Course, I had coupons too.  LOL)

Now, for the good stuff!!!!  Because I'm in the holiday spirit and bought this stuff specifically for this reason, I am giving away this awesome package.  You will get approximately 3/4 of a yard of these darling circle prints by Kim Schaefer, (22 circles in all), plus 1 yard of matching stripe (in case you want to do something on the bias), and 1 yard of a matching Kona red fabric.  Can't you just imagine the darling pot holders you could make for family and friends?

Here's a close up of one of my favorite guys:

So, no big deal.  Just comment here, if you will, and I will have my darling husband pick a number (since I don't know how to use that goofy automatic generator thing) on Sunday.  How's that?  Make sure I can get ahold of you, should you win.  It'd be awful not to find you!!!  Until then, happy sewing, or cleaning, or cooking or whatever else fills your day!  Love ya!

I just have to say thank you for taking a picture of your dining room table. My husband doesn't really understand why I'm so messy, while I think I'm being pretty good confining the mess to JUST the table area! (Well, there may be a mess on the ironing board that gets transferred to the bed when I have to use the iron, but ironing boards are really skinny. lol)

Nancy said...

great fabric!! I would love to make some last minute potholders...

Lynda said...

I too have been organizing fabric, spent 6 hrs yesterday gathering fabric from all my hidey holes (laundry room, bedroom, office, etc) refolding if necessary, and putting away in a newly cleared space - all in one place. Have a few more hours to go and will then have all my fabric in one place - scary that, need to start sewing now.

Calicojoan said...

Well, I don't know about you, but a clean table means someone expects me to cook so they can use it. I see no good in either one of em! hahahahahaha

Georgi said...

Like you, I have 4-5 bins of fabric (mostly thrifted that I just HAD to have) in my bedroom closet. I REALLY need to go through those. But in the meantime, thanks for the chance to win something new! Fingers crossed!!

I had to laugh out loud at your dining room table since I thought you snuck in and took a picture at my house! Unfortunately, the LAST thing that usually happens at my table is dining - oh well, it feeds my soul anyway - lol!
Thanks for the generous giveaway!

Your dining room table looks a lot like mine - although your fabric pieces look way more interesting them my stack of paper and bills. I did a similar vase deal a few years ago now and just loved the effect - I think that is what my table will need again this year - thank you for the reminder. Great giveaway fabrics!

You have a beautiful table! It's such a large flat surface right out in the open...too easy to have the dropsies and leave everything on it.

Beautiful centerpiece.

I saw that fabric at our local quilt show and regretted later not getting some! It is my favourite Christmas fabric that I've seen so far.

I cleaned my dining room table off tonight, too! It was looking much like yours. While my dining room might look like a dining room again, I now have a spare bedroom that looks like a disaster! I'll worry about that later.

You're right, Carol, that was a scary looking table!! My sewing room is upstairs and looks that bad, too. I've been procrastinating all week...kept saying to myself I might have a few moments to sew! HA!

Have the potholders planned already. Sooo cute. My table is always covered in quilting stuff as I am still waiting for dh to build me a sewing room. Might clear it on Christmas eve just so we have somewhere to eat our turkey dinner.
