Someone's got a new skirt

After re-doing our tree to lime, green, white and red in 2007, I knew the poor tree needed a new skirt.  The victorian one I made in the 80s just wasn't doing the job with all the bright, funky new colors......and the 4 inch ecru lace on the bottom, well, what can I say???  Duh!!  Besides, it was.....glory be......dark green velvet, with pink ribbons!!??  E-gads!!!

Well, you saw the previews of my sewing the other day with my red and white and green fabrics, so now I can show you the finished product since we've finally had a bit of sun.  I must say that it turned out exactly as I had envisioned it.  (Good thing I still had my original newspaper pattern from all those years ago, huh?  At least it gave me a start.)

And doesn't it look nice where it belongs????

Carol, this is the most original and gorgeous quilted skirt. You amaze me with all your creativity and talent. I've said it before (and I know I'll be saying it again) you need to turn this into a pattern and sell it! You also could be teaching classes. I know that if I lived near you, I would be one of your 'regulars'. Thank you for the 'eye candy' and the inspiration. Hugs, Karen

Carol, You seriously have to start writing up patterns and selling them. You've got a knack for coming up with unique and beautiful things!! Hey, even if it just brings in a few bucks for quilting!!

What a great skirt! One day we will get a nromal sized tree (the last 5 years we use a 2 foot tree-keeping it away from babies & toddlers) and have been looking for a tree skirt I want to make for it, yours has made it directly at the top of my list. I hope you don't mind me stealing your design :)

Oh! It's so increbibly fantastic! I'm not a green person, but I forced myself to buy a whole bunch for a chinese coin quilt with white background for a friend. Now I have bunches left over and this would be an ideal project to use them!! Darnit, tho, I will have to buy a bunch of fresh reds, all of my stash leans to burgundy - haha LQS here I come! But wait...where can I get your pattern?

I love this, just came across it today following PINS.
This would be perfect for my son and d-i-l.
If you made a pattern I'd be wiling to buy it, because I would like to make something very similar.
