Guess What?
Yup! You guessed it! Yeah.....I got my doll quilt today and it's so so wonderful! I almost didn't want to open it though, it was wrapped so pretty. (Too bad I didn't get a picture of that.....shame on me!) But I can't wait to show you my quilt. What a lot of work it was for my partner to make it special for me. The design is awesome and just wait until you see her hand quilting. It is amazing! Wow! Thank you so much, Julie (fairbanksfancygoods), I just love it and can't wait to hang it in our guest room.

Orange & Snowman?
Yup, that's what my Potholder Pass swap partner loves.....orange and snowmen, so who am I to deny her? I wondered how I could incorporate both into a potholder, so I just got out my snowman mini pattern from early January, made it a titch bigger, and used an orange background. And ta-da!!! An orange snowman:
Well, then I had to make something to at least match a little and what to do? Why not make teeny tiny squares in oranges, with fancy cut owls? I figured if I bound them the same, they might pass for a set. And so they did:
Well, I mailed them on Friday and she got them today and she loves them! I'm so happy! (Now, if I'd only get my doll quilt, I'd be a happy too! Sigh.........I'm still waiting!!!!)

"Joy"
Yahoo....I finally can post something I didn't make....can you believe it? Yippee! No, it's not my long lost, late, doll swap quilt, but it's really neat none the less. I joined a few swaps recently as you know and my last post showed a pic of "9 Carrots" which is the one I sent my partner, Lori "lollydo" for the 6-12" mini swap depicting "spring fling". I thought of bunnies, but she thought of something a whole lot better (although at my age, it never crosses my mind anymore). Wait until you see all the work she put into this beauty! And she never even repeated one single fabric! Check it out:
And the really cool details........
Did you see that fancy thread painting? Amazing! Well, today has been a fun day! I mailed out my finished potholders to my partner.......and I'll show you those another day....they're really no big deal.......and I got this fantastic quilt in the mail from Lori. Happy Friday to me!

9 Carrots
No doll quilt yet! BUT.....I did hear from my swap mama that it would be late, so there is hope!
Until then, I wanted to show you the 6-12" mini that I did send to my partner for that swap. I like this one so much better.
I don't think I'm spoiling the surprise because I'm pretty sure she doesn't read my blog. Besides, her bunny is outlined in black and looks just a wee bit different.
On another note, I have heard from my graphic artist (and he is really GOOD, ladies) and the tree skirt pattern is coming along wonderfully! I'm thinking that it should be done and ready at least by the end of the month. I can't wait to show you!! It is so cool if I do say so myself!

No Doll Quilt Yet
Boo-hoo, I still haven't received my doll quilt from my partner. I thought I'd be posting a pic before now, but not yet. (I sure hope it's good! I'm going nuts with anticipation! I was thinking.....wouldn't it be funny if my partner was a flaker and I'd have to send an angel quilt to myself? LOL That would "fix" me, huh?) Oh well!
In the meantime, I'll give you peek of what I've been doing. I joined another swap called the 6"-12" mini swap and this month the theme is "spring fling". I was dumbfounded on what to do until I saw a napkin at the grocery store and came home and drew my rendition of it. I must admit that at first I thought it was spectacular and due to that I made 6 of them.......yes, 6. Why? Who knows? I must have thought I would be blessing the neighborhood with my creative wonder.....??? Or, maybe I just needed to stay busy. In any event, I'm not loving them anymore and have created a different one. That one though is still a secret until my partner receives it. (I sent it out today, so it shouldn't be long. In the meantime, here is the first which I have already given to several of my friends. Of course, I have to show the work in progress first, you know:
And the result. It's about 7 inches square. (And I only have 2 left, thank heaven.)
