Lady #55 plus more........

Boy, oh boy, do I have the stuff to show you today and believe it or not, even some of it is sewing related.  (I know I have been a slacker in that department lately, but I have been having such fun drawing and using my amazing Copic markers that I just can't seem to stop!  Needless to say, you WILL be seeing some fun mail too!)

First though, let me present Lady #55, Noel, from Spain.  (Yes, Spain!)  I am getting to be quite an international artist, I guess, huh?  Last time, South Africa and now Spain?  Woo-hoo!  Keep um coming, I say!  I think I'm up to 5 continents now!  Anyhow, this is Noel.  I posted the original photo she sent to me plus another one with her and "herself" which she was kind enough to send me.

Lady #55 - Noel from Spain

Noel with "herself"

Such a pretty girl, don't you think????  Oh, to be so young again................

Then, I don't know if you remember, but I had to make a pincushion for the Pincushion Swap that I am in.  I plan on making another one, just for fun and to see which I like better, but so far I only have this one made:

Rainbow Pincushion 2013

Pretty cool how I "stage" the pincushion with appropriate colored pins, doncha think?  (In reality, you have no idea how long it took to find those pins that I had stuck away somewhere.  Probably as long as it took to make the crazy pincushion.  lol)  I really should keep my stuff all together somewhere!!

Then, we have the envelopes (again).  I truly love making these.....and sending them, and wondering the facial expressions of those receiving them.  I hope there are lots of smiles........!!!  I know my little great niece is loving hers.  (I'm spoiling her with two a week now.)  The first contains an early reader...as the original plan....but now I add an "a-z mystery" book to her collection as well.  This week, it was one titled, "The Vampire's Vacation".

Finally, I will just post the remainder of the envelopes that went out in this week's mail.  (I must admit the the post office is loving me!!  I have been spending a shit-load of $$ on stamps!)

Whew.....there you have it!  Please don't think that all those drawings are self thought up......heavens NO!  I'd never be able to think up so many cute things without help!  I copy images from all over....greeting cards, clip art, fabrics, wallpaper, etc.   I do hand draw them and color them but I do copy them mostly from tiny images onto the 6x9" envelopes (my newest favorite size.)  They are not for sale!  I am doing this just for fun....just for the enjoyment of the recipient!  If you need a smile, let me know..........hopefully, I won't run out of stamps!  lol  Until next time!

Beautiful Lady of Spain. Wasn't that a song by Tijuana Brass??? I'll have to Google that. I would love a cute envelope in my mail. The lady hanging off the cliff, thats me some days lately...

Your Lady Quilt truly captures the essence of beautiful Noel and her smile. International Quilting Star you are! Your pincushion is as happy as a new box of Crayola crayons...and I did notice your carefully placed matching pins. Well done. Now for your envelopes...I Love Them All!!! Your creative way of including the required stamps really adds to the creative drawings you do. Copic on dear...
P.S. I would love to trade an envelope made by you for something I make and send to you. It won't be hand-drawn and uber cute though.

So glad to have found your blog, it's been fun to read through it. My question has to do with the tag on your pincushion. Where did you order it? I often see personal tags on handmade items but have no idea where people find them.
By the way, my kids always liked drawing and coloring pictures on their envelopes to pen pals :O)Your art work is amazing!

I sure hope the Mom's are opening these envelopes & saving them for the girls to enjoy later on, Carol.
They could be made into a book, seriously! Just darling!

I saw your pincushion on Flickr...can I officailly say here & now, I HATE THEIR NEW FORMAT!!!!! YUCK...terrible idea. Very cute pincushion & I noticed right away that you had the exact # & color of pins in each section. LOL

Love to see what you're up to & you could easily make those minion cupcakes I did. You'd probably make them even better!

P. S. Oooops, Sorry, but I forgot to say how beautiful Noel looks & her portrait that you did is a dead ringer for her! Well done...AGAIN!!

P.P.S also wanted to say how much I LOVE her name...DD was going to name Doni "Noel" if he'd have been a girl. With a birthday of Dec. 26th, wouldn't that have been perfect?
